Pine Cone Cabin at Chickadee & Pine

Nestled beneath tall cedars, Pine Cone Cabin is a quiet, handcrafted Whidbey Island retreat for two—perfect for a romantic getaway, a peaceful solo escape, or a few slow days away with your dog. The nearby Goat Barn Studio is included with your Cabin stay as an extra space to relax, read, play games, listen to records, watch a movie, or spend some creative time by the wood stove.

Mornings are slow here, with coffee on the deck and sunlight filtering through the trees. Evenings might mean a fire beneath the cedars, a long soak in your private outdoor tub, or putting on a record and settling in beside the wood stove in the Goat Barn Studio.

Guests have full access to the Pine Cone Cabin, Goat Barn Studio, and private outdoor spaces, including the bedroom deck, outdoor soaking tub, picnic tables, and firepit beneath the trees.

You’ll also have access to our shared wood-fired sauna, outdoor shower, and cold plunge, shared only with Chickadee Cottage next door. Clear signs let you know when the area is open or in use, so you can enjoy the space privately.

A quiet corner of South Whidbey

Pine Cone Cabin is tucked into a quiet rural neighborhood on the southwest side of Whidbey Island, just a few minutes from Maxwelton Beach and a short drive from the seaside town of Langley. Spend the day exploring beaches, forest trails, farm stands, restaurants, and small shops—or stay right here and do very little at all.

Life on South Whidbey moves at an easy pace. Mornings might begin with coffee beneath the cedars, afternoons with a walk on the beach, and evenings back at the Cabin around the firepit or soaking outdoors beneath the trees.

The Cabin and Goat Barn sit on a quiet stretch of forest, so you’ll likely see deer, rabbits, squirrels, and plenty of birds. Dogs are very welcome at Chickadee & Pine, and we provide thoughtful extras to make traveling with your pup a little easier. Please keep dogs leashed outdoors and tidy up after them.

We like to give our guests plenty of space to unwind, but we’re nearby if you need anything. You might see us tending the gardens or adding more firewood. We’re always happy to share favorite beaches, hikes, and farm stands—or help get the sauna going—but mostly, we’ll let you enjoy the quiet countryside, the firepit, and the magic of Whidbey at your own pace.

A car is recommended for exploring the island. The Clinton ferry terminal is a short drive away, making Pine Cone Cabin an easy getaway from Seattle while still feeling wonderfully removed from everyday life.
